There is a golden opportunity for the aspirants who want to join Indian Air Force (IAF) as registrations for different courses will be starting soon. AFCAT 1 2023 notification was released on November 27, 2022, on the official website, afcat.cdac.in. The notification that is issued will tell candidates about the procedure such as the date of the exam, exam pattern, selection procedure, application process, and eligibility criteria. Indian Air Force (IAF) is inviting individuals both men and women to become part of the force as group A gazette officers in flying and ground duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Authorities will conduct Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) online examination on 24-Feb-2023, 25 -Feb-2023, and 26-Feb-2023. Interested candidates can submit the application forms from December 1, 2022, and can submit them by December 30, 2022. Individuals can do registration by visiting the website – careerindianairforce.cdac.in or afcat.cdac.in.

The selection will be based on the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). The candidates who will be selected will be trained in the first week of January 2024 for all courses at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad). The training period for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches will be 74 weeks. The duration of training for Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches will be 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments. The individuals who will be selected will be posted as Commissioned Officers.
Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts the AFCAT twice a year to hire eligible and qualified candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Indian Air Force also hires individuals for the grant of PC/SSC for the NCC Special Entry Scheme (Flying Branch) and Meteorological Entry. It is suggested that individuals should read the notification in detail before applying for the posts.

AFCAT 1 2023 Recruitment Educational Qualification
Flying branch-
- Candidates should have passed the 12th classwith a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics.
- Graduation with a minimum of three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks.
- BE/B Tech degree with a four-year course from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Individuals should have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a least 60% marks.
Ground Duty Technical Branch
- Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical)–
- Individuals must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks each in physics and mathematics.
- It is also required to have a four-year degree in graduation/integrated or post-graduation in engineering and technology from a recognized university.
- Candidates must have cleared the examination for associate membership of the institution of engineers (India) in both A and B sections, with at least 60% in certain disciples as prescribed by IAF.
- Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics)
- Individuals must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks each in physics and mathematics.
- Candidates should have a degree in graduation/post-graduation in the field of engineering and technology from a recognized university.
- It is just that the aspirants must have cleared the examination for associate membership of the institution of engineers (India) in both A and B sections, with a minimum of 60% in certain disciples as prescribed by IAF.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branches
- Administration-
- Candidates should have a Graduate degree with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university.
- Individuals must have cleared section A & B examinations with a minimum of 60%
- Weapon System Branch
- Individuals should have passed the 12th class with a minimum of 50% marks each in Math and Physics.
- The interested candidate should be graduated with a minimum of three years of degree courses in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Individuals must have done (a BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with at least 60% marks.
AFCAT Age limit
- The minimum age for Flying Branch should be 20 years and the maximum age of the candidate must be 24 years.
- For Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches, the age of the individuals should be between 20 to 26 years.
AFCAT 1 Recruitment Application Fee
The candidates have to pay an application fee online. For General and all other categories, people have to pay Rs. 250/-
AFCAT Recruitment 2023 Selection Process
The selection process includes three stages that are written examination, Officers Intelligence Rating Test & Picture Perception, Discussion test, psychological test, and Group tests / Interviews.
AFCAT 1 2023 Exam Pattern
Candidates will be allotted 3 marks for every correct answer. There will be a negative marking for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be deducted if the candidate doesn’t attempt the question.
