PMST Distribution Procedure
The Pathani Samanta Mathematics Scholarship Test offers scholarships at different stages:
Stage I:
- 4000 scholarships are available for Class VI students.
- The scholarship amount is Rs. 200 per month.
- The scholarship is awarded for 7 years, from Class VI to Class XII.
- Continuance in the scholarship program for the following year depends on securing a minimum of 60% aggregate score in the final examination of the previous year.
- Scholarships are distributed as follows:
- 314 Blocks: 10 scholarships per block, totaling 3140 scholarships.
- 63 Municipalities: 10 scholarships per municipality, totaling 630 scholarships.
- 37 NACs (Notified Area Councils): 5 scholarships per NAC, totaling 185 scholarships.
- 3 Municipal Corporations: 15 scholarships per corporation, totaling 45 scholarships.
Stage II:
- 1000 scholarships are available for Class IX students.
- The scholarship amount is Rs. 300 per month.
Stage III:
- 300 scholarships are available for Class XI students.
- The scholarship amount is Rs. 500 per month.
- These scholarships are awarded to the top 300 scorers in mathematics in the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
Scholarship amounts will be electronically deposited into the students’ accounts every six months, and the Headmasters (H.M.) and District Inspectors or District Education Officers (D.I./DEO) will be informed about the transfer for communication to the students. This multi-stage scholarship program aims to support and encourage students who excel in mathematics throughout their academic journey.
Special Input Session

- Durga puja – 6 days
- Winter break – 9 days
- Summer Holidays – 30 days

- Inputs will be provided by trained teachers at 157 locations for Rural areas and 53 locations for Urban areas
PMST Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Pathani Samanta Mathematics Scholarship Test (PMST) are as follows:
Stage 1 Eligibility:
- The applicant must be studying at an Odia medium school.
- The applicant should be enrolled in Class 6th.
- The student must have successfully passed the Class 5th examination with a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics.
Stage 2 Eligibility:
- The students must be studying in Class 9th.
- Applicants should have passed the Class 8th examination with a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics.
