Every year, the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) is conducted with the motive to select individuals for medical officer posts. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has the responsibility of conducting this examination. The UPSC CMS Exam includes two stages that are part 1 and part 2. It is required for the candidates to qualify for each of the stages. Every interested candidate should know about the UPSC CMS selection process in detail.

Both papers will be having Multiple choice questions and the examination will be computer-based. The question papers will be set in English only for the candidates. Applicants have to mark the papers themselves. Negative marking will be done for the wrong answers, and 1/3rd of marks will be deducted. If the question is unattempted then no negative marking will be done. Calculators are not allowed to answer objective-type papers.
