The Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) exam date and exam pattern are already out. The announcement about the exam date and new exam pattern was made on December 02, 2022. The detailed notification will be made available to the interested individual on the official website on February 02, 2023. The notification will make people aware of the final dates, exam pattern, eligibility criteria, selection process, and application process.
The UPSC has the responsibility to conduct the IRMS Recruitment special exam. The aspirants still have to do preparations as the exam will take place on May 28, 2023. According to the new selection process, the applicants must first take the UPSC CSE Prelims exam. Then the candidates who will be shortlisted through the screening test will have to give the IRMS Mains exam. After completion of this exam, the qualifying candidates will have to go through an interview round.
Earlier, UPSC IRMS was selected through Civil Services Examination and Indian Engineering Service Exam. The IRMS will conduct with the motive to recruit candidates at all levels such as from Junior Scale to HAG. The UPSC has given the authority to conduct the exam for the candidates for the Ministry of Railways. Soon, the Union Public Service Commission will announce the details in the notification.

Nationality
The interested candidates should be permanent citizens of India.
Age limit
The minimum age of the individuals should be 21 years and the maximum age must be 32 years. The age relaxation will be given according to the government rules and regulations.

UPSC IRMS Recruitment 2023 Recruitment Process
The has three stages that are a Preliminary exam, a Mains exam, and an Interview. The applicant must qualify for all these rounds. After clearing all these rounds the individual will be selected for the post in railways. The individuals who will be selected will be given two years of training. Initially, the selected applicants will be appointed on probation. The probation period can be extended if there will a need to extend the training.

UPSC IRMS Recruitment 2023 Selection Process
It is necessary to give the IRMS exam and it will be conducted in five fields: Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunication Engineering. There is also the non-technical entry for candidates who have not done engineering but are working hard for civil services.
The candidates who have applied for the exam have to go through three stages that are the Prelims exam, Mains Examination, and Personality test.
- Prelims exams are objective examinations and multiple-choice questions will be asked.
- Mains exam will be a subjective examination and there will be no negative marking in this exam. Applicants have to give their best in the mains exam to appear in the next round.
- Personality Test– this is the final stage of the IRMS recruitment exam. The candidates who will qualify for the written exam will be called for this interview round. The individuals will be marked out of 200 marks in this round. The panel will assess the following skills of the candidates such as suitability of the candidate for a career in the public service sector, Mental caliber or Mental alertness, Leadership Qualities, Initiative & Intellectual Curiosity, Mental & Physical energy, and Other social traits and interesting current affairs.
After qualifying all stages, the selected candidates will be called for a medical test. The authorities will prepare the final merit list after all rounds and the individuals who will be selected will be allocated departments.
